How to get there?
Most trekkers start this trip from Pokhara. However, if you are starting your trip from Kathmandu, then you can reach there by either flight or overland transportation. Several airways run a daily flight from Kathmandu to Pokhara, which takes around 30 minutes to get there. Similarly, if you want to enjoy the road drive, you can choose either public or private vehicles. It takes 9-10 hours by local buses and 5-6 hours by private vehicles like Jeep, car, etc., to reach Pokhara.
From Pokhara, the next destination you will be driving to is Ulleri, as it is the entrance point of this trek. You can get access to the local bus from Pokhara Bus Station to Nayapul, and then you need to drive further towards Ulleri from there. So, we recommend you to go by Jeep as you can directly navigate to Ulleri from Pokhara, and the trip also becomes somewhat comfortable. Avoid starting trek from Nayapul as the route is very dusty.
The road condition from Pokhara to Nayapul is flatter and easily driveable. However, the road is unpaved and bumpy from Nayapul to Ulleri, and it becomes worse in monsoon.

It takes around 35-40 minutes to land in the small airport of Lukla. We recommend you to go for this option if you are short on time and want to enjoy a comfortable trip.
The airport in Lukla is tiny, like a mountain airstrip. So, prepare yourself to face the problems like delays in flight because of weather changes. Also, learn more about this airport by getting in touch with the local trekking agency in Nepal for beforehand preparation.
You can also choose road drive as an alternative option to reach Lukla. The most popular road route is one from Kathmandu to Salleri, which takes around 9 hours by Jeep. From there, you need to ride for another 5 hours towards Thamdanda. The road for the vehicles is under construction from Thamdanda, so a walk of around 6 hours is mandatory to reach Lukla.
The drive from Kathmandu to Salleri is safe and comfortable as the road is paved; however, the further drive from Salleri is difficult because the road starts to get bumpy and slippery.

From Pokhara, you can drive further towards either Gandruk or Kimchi, or Ulleri. It is said that Gandruk is the best starting point for this trek. Moreover, you can also begin your trek from Kimchi, to get to base camp quickly. It takes around 4 hours to reach Kimchi via local bus and about 2 hours via private jeep/car.
Furthermore, if you want to start your trek from Ulleri, then you can directly drive from Pokhara to there by jeep. You can also get access to local buses from Pokhara Bus Station, which will take you to Nayapul. From there, you need to ride further towards Ulleri.
The drive from Pokhara to Nayapul is a little bumpy, but it is driveable easily. However, the road from Nayapul to Ulleri is unpaved and difficult. So, try to avoid using this route during the monsoon.

How to get there?
To start the Mardi Himal Trek, first, you need to reach Pokhara. You can take the 30 minutes short flight or 9 to 10 hours’ drive in local bus or short 5 hours’ drive in private jeep/car to reach Pokhara. We recommend you to go for either flight or private jeep as it makes your trip more comfortable and saves time.
From Pokhara, you can follow the route of either Kande or Landruk. You can get access to several local buses in Pokhara bus station that takes you to Kande. It takes around 1 to 2 hours. However, during monsoon, the road gets slippery and may result in 4 to 5 hours of the long journey just to reach there. Similarly, you can also drive to Landruk, but the bus services are less in number, and the road is also comparatively more challenging, muddy, and slippery than Kande.

From Pokhara, you need to further drive towards Kande. Many buses depart from Pokhara bus station to Kande, which takes around 1.5 hours to reach there. However, during the monsoon, the road gets muddy and slippery because of which a 1.5 hours’ drive can take even 5 hours to end. So, be ready to face the problems if you are planning your trip during the monsoon.

Syabrubesi is the starting point of Langtang Valley trek. The only option available to reach there is by overland transportation. You can get access to the local bus from Machha Pokhari microbus stop that departs to Syabrubesi daily between 6 to 8 am. It is 120km away from Kathmandu and takes around 8 hours. However, if you drive from private jeep, then you can reach there within 5 hours.
The situation on the road is better till half way and later it starts getting difficult. The road gets more slippery and demanding during monsoon.

How to get there?
Jomsom is the starting point of the Upper Mustang trek. One of the easiest ways to reach Jomsom is via flight. However, there is no direct flight from Kathmandu to Jomsom. So, first, you need to take a 30 minutes flight to Pokhara from Kathmandu and then further take another 20 minutes flight to Jomsom from Pokhara.
As an alternative option, you can also choose the road drive to reach Jomsom. If you ride a private jeep/car, you can get there within 11 to 12 hours. However, if you are looking for a local bus, first, you need to catch the bus for Pokhara. From Pokhara, you will get access to the several buses that run to Beni. Again, you need to depart from Beni to reach Ghasa. And after catching one last bus from the bus station of Ghasa, you will get Jomsom.
We recommend you travel via flight and jeep so that you can enjoy the trip safely and save time and energy. Remember, the drive from Beni starts getting rough and brutal. So, prepare yourself to face the difficulties of road driving.

How to get there?
Besisahar is the gateway to the Annapurna Circuit trek. If you are start your trek from Kathmandu, you can directly drive towards Besisahar via private or local vehicles. It will take around 15 hours via local bus to reach Besisahar. However, in a private jeep, you can get there within 8-9 hours.
From Besisahar, you can follow the route of Ngadi or Chamje. You can get access to a small bus with 25 seats which depart to Ngadi from Besisahar or Bulbule. It takes around 40 minutes by local bus and 20 minutes by private jeep to reach Ngadi village. However, if you want to trek from Chamje, then remember that no local buses are available. Either you should walk from Besisahar to Chamje or take a jeep ride. The road that takes you to Chamje is muddy and slippery, however, the scenery throughout the way is worthy.
Besides these, you can also follow the ending route of Manaslu trek i.e., Dharapani. You can drive directly from Kathmandu to Dharapani via jeep, which takes around 8-9 hours. However, if you are traveling from a local bus, you need to reach Besisahar and then take another jeep. The road is a mixture of both rough and smooth drives.

It is 15km away from Kathmandu and takes around 2 hours by local bus. The road starts to get rough and bumpy once you cross the Jorpati, Bouddha because, after it, the road route is unpaved.
We recommend you to drive via private jeep to avoid the long duration. If you want to reach there by local bus, try to catch the early morning bus to avoid the traffic and busy roads.

How to get there?
To trek Khopra Danda, first, you need to reach Pokhara. You can take the short 30 minutes flight or enjoy the 4-5 hours of jeep drive or take the 10 hours long ride in a local bus to reach Pokhara.
From Pokhara, you need to drive further towards Nayapul. The local buses are easily available in Pokhara Bus station. Now, most of the people start to trek from Nayapul, however we recommend you to drive via jeep further to Ulleri so that you can avoid the dusty trail from Nayapul.
The road drive is safe and drivable till Nayapul, but the road starts getting bumpy and rough after it. The drive from Nayapul to Ulleri gets even worse during the monsoon.
